
Some ideas for travelling for pleasure on holiday in the Chianti

The road winds down towards the valley of the river Greve as far as Greve in Chianti. The town centre is constituted by piazza Matteotti, the ancient market place with irregular plan ancl porticoes which sustain several terraces. At the entrance of the town, going towardss Florence and following a , winding road you arrive at Montefioralle, a village with a medieval castle and the church of S. Stefano, which exhibits several works of art and in particular a panel painting by the so-called Master of Greve.
Leaving Greve and following the SS 222 vou climb up to Panzano. leaving on your left the road which leads to Lamole, and, passing in front of the villa Vignamaggio, a small town scattered around the castle and the church.
