The Parish Church of Barberino Vai d'Elsa is dedicated to St. Bartholomew and to
St. Stephen. It was built at the beginning of the twentieth century in the same area of the former church. It was
consacrated on 20th September 1913 It was designed by the florentine architect Giuseppe Castellucci.
It is a remarkable building, in the Neo-Gothic style; it is made up of a centrai nave with two aisles. The carved cross placed in the
architrave above the front door is an interesting relic of the ancient church. The structure of the church is imposing and its bell-tower
can be seen from every pari of the zone. The view from the front
door is amazing: the valley, the Castle of Tignano and, in the distance, the village of San Donato in Poggio.
